Oregon Is Indian Country: Federal Indian Policies August 6, 2009

Lewis & Clark first came upon these territories in 1805. Learn about the scene-changing nature of U.S. government policies (regarding sovereignty, treaties, the reservation system, termination and restoration) that have been implemented since then, and the complexties of Indian country's current issues. This is part of an Oregon Historical Society traveling exhibit.
