Host: The Heritage Foundation. With the Supreme Court returning to session in October, all eyes will once again turn to the judiciary. Regrettably, in recent years judges have transformed the courts into a policymaking body that wields wide-ranging power concerning virtually all aspects of American life. Rather than fulfilling their duty to interpret the Constitution and laws as they are written, activist judges have increasingly sought to impose their own policy preferences on the nation. To address this threat to the rule of law, The Heritage Foundation will launch a new website that will serve as a clearinghouse for information on judicial nominees and provide analysis of the worst activist cases in U.S. history. The archive of activism, which profiles current and historical instances of judicial activism, is searchable by case, by court, or by judge.
