The Conejo Orchid Society is pleased to announce its annual Orchid Show and Sale at the Thousand Oaks Public Library, June 8 - 10. This free event will be an opportunity for the community to learn about orchids and the Conejo Orchid Society and to try their hand at growing some of the most beautiful and unusual plants in the world.
This annual event includes an exhibit of members’ orchids, and a wide range of inexpensive, easy to grow orchids for sale. Several hundred orchids from local and Hawaiian orchid nurseries will be available, most in bud or in bloom. Many of these plants can be successfully grown outdoors in Southern California. Other orchids and “companion plants” such as succulents and tillandsias grown by Conejo Orchid Society members will also be on sale. Demonstrations will show how to divide and repot orchids and other aspects of orchid care. Society members will be available to provide guidance on how best to grow your new orchids and to answer any questions that you have.
The hours of the Orchid Show and Sale are Friday June 8 – noon to 6 pm, Saturday June 9 - 10 am to 5 pm, and Sunday June 10 – 1 pm to 3 pm. Come early for the best selection. Demonstrations will be Friday at 1 pm, and Saturday at 11 am to 1 pm. Admission is free. The Thousand Oak Public Library is located at 1401 E. Janss Road, Thousand Oaks.
