Before making its international debut at the Cheltenham Music Festival and Lichfield Music Festival (UK) in July, OMM will be staging a pre-tour concert in Singapore showcasing its line-up of pieces for the tour. The prestigious Cheltenham Music Festival is one of the oldest festivals in Britain; while the Lichfield Music Festival, founded in 1981, comprises of diverse events of international calibre. Past performers in these two music festivals include the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra and City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra, among many others.
Joining OMM in this exciting event is Dr. Thomas Hecht and the Queensland Youth Symphony Orchestra (QYSO). As Head of Piano Studies at the Yong Siew Toh Conservatory of Music, Dr. Hecht has appeared with leading orchestras on five continents and is the winner of the ARD Munich International and USA National Two Piano Competitions. The QYSO is a like-minded friend of OMM which seeks to promote interest, enthusiasm and social welfare in the learning and appreciation of music by youth. They will be performing Beethoven's Fifth "Emperor" Piano Concerto with soloist Jayson Gilham as part of their 12th international tour.
So come and be the first to witness the unfolding of a historic moment in Singapore's music scene!
