$35. Orchestra Baobob, the seminal Senegalese dance band in the '70s which reunited in 2001 after a 15-year hiatus, presents its exuberant blend of Cuban rhythms and Afropop. The group, which brilliantly revitalizes the classic Afro-Latin sound, features several original members, including vocalists Balla Sidibe and Rudy Gomis, saxophonist Issa Cissoko and guitarist Barthelemy Atisso. Their recent recording, Specialist in All Styles (World Cicuit /Nonesuch) was hailed as one of the best CDs of 2002.
