Feature Presentation: Bonsai Pots

Gordon Deeg, Director of Bonsai Gardens at Lake Merritt, will discuss what makes a good bonsai pot, where they generally come from, and why bonsai artists want different designs for different styles/species of trees. In the professional bonsai community, much time and study goes into matching a pot with a tree.

A bonsai aficionado for nearly 40 years, with several bonsai certificates ofproficiency in different areas, Gordon has spent the last 8 years studying in Japan with one of the most well known and respected Japanese bonsai artists.
