Roll up your sleeves and get ready to pull, because the ORBIS Pull for Sight fundraiser is returning to Toronto this summer! This second stop of the national plane pull campaign raises money towards supporting ORBIS’s Kids Sight program to eliminate preventable blindness and transform the lives of blind and visually impaired children throughout the developing world.
Teams of up to 25 people will pull a FedEx 757 aircraft 12 feet in a friendly competition to see who can reach the finish line first. Teams can participate for a donation of $1,250 or $50 per person. All donations are fully tax receiptable. Admission is free for friends and family to cheer on the teams or participate in kid-friendly activities on site. Advanced team registration is required by calling toll-free at 1-877-672-4722 or emailing infocanada@orbis.org.
ORBIS Canada is part of a non-aligned, non-profit global development organization whose mission is to prevent and treat blindness by providing quality eye care to transform lives. ORBIS draws upon an international faculty of more than 450 volunteer ophthalmologists, nurses, and biomedical engineers, approximately 40 of them are Canadian, to deliver eye care training and treatment in the most underserved regions of the world. Since our programs were first launched 29 years ago, ORBIS has benefitted people in more than 87 countries, enhancing the skills of more than 262,000 health care personnel and providing treatment for more than 12.5 million people. The support from Canadian donors is instrumental in the implementation of our global sight-saving programs.
