THE EVIDENCE OF THINGS NOT SEEN
Amateur astronomers are assisting the professional astronomical community by providing data for a variety of projects ranging from the solar system, to stellar systems, to cosmology. I'll weave together two themes: (1) a celebration of amateur astronomical research, by highlighting some recent noteworthy project results in which amateur observers have played important roles, and (2) a reminder that there is an invisible universe out there, and that we are using what we can see as a way of figuring out things that we cannot see.
