This seminar goes far beyond the level of the core Oracle DBA curriculum, and expects an experienced audience. The seminar will start with an introduction to parallelism and scalability and the architecture that supports the Speedup or Scale up of certain types of application workloads. Then you will learn about the internals of Parallel Execution, the Parallel Slave Pool, the Parallel Execution Coordinator, Parallel Execution Plans and Row Distribution. The seminar discusses the types of Operations that may be done in parallel both for DBAs and for developers as well as methods for tuning memory requirements and the use of the Parallel Slaves. Diagnostic and Administrative V$ Views are also discussed in detail in support of these objectives. The seminar will include discussion of certain Parallel hints, initialization parameters and will contain demonstrations of many of these concepts.
