Operation Rudolf is a joint operation being undertaken by Far North Region based Police, Fire, Ambulance, SES and the general community. The proceeds of this activity will be given to the Bravehearts to assist with the educational and counselling services in Far North Queensland.
Operation Rudolf will be a massive convoy of emergency vehicles that will weave from the centre of Cairns and some 6 hours later arrive at the Christmas Festival at the world renowned Palm Cove. Santa will be escorted on his journey, under lights, sirens and Christmas Songs, and he will be stopping along the way to hand out goodies to children. This year in excess of 50 emergency vehicles will take part, including Santa’s Cadillac’s and at least 5 Sheriff’s vehicles.
We will be receiving news coverage and promotion in the lead up to the event stating where and when you will be able to greet the convoy and what events are occurring at the Palm Cove Festival.
The crew from 846 have already offered to donate their time for this event and they will be live for the duration of the convoy. As well advertising promoting the event will be run jointly on Easy Listing 846, 4CAFM and Channel Seven Cairns.
The plan is to have the full convoy form up at 1430 and begin the merriment and fundraising no later than 1445 with around 21 stops between the City and Palm Cove.
While this is the 3rd year in Cairns Operation Rudolf will also be staged in Babinda and Innisfail on the 6th of December.
The there Operation Rudolf’s will be raising monies for Bravehearts in Far North Queensland. Bravehearts is specifically set up to cater for children who have been sexually assaulted, and to educate children towards the prevention of sexual assault, it is imperative that Bravehearts continues to grow in the Far North Queensland region, and all proceeds from Operation Rudolf will be ensuring that these service grow in strength to assist those who desperately need it.
The Paedophilia statistics are staggering and sickening; 1 in 5 children being sexually assaulted, 1 in 3 girls and these stats may very well be worse in reality as they only apply to reported cases of sexual assault. Please feel free to visit our web site for more information: www.bravehearts.org.au . This is a true community event and we would very, much like your support.
Thank you for your interest in Operation Rudolf 2008.
