Every artist sends a message, either consciously or unconsciously with their artwork. Quilters express themselves utilizing textiles. The "TEXTile MESSAGING" Art Quilt Exhibit is an opportunity for 14 New Mexico Art Quilters to showcase current work expressing their thoughts, experiences, emotions, and more. Whether the work is representational or abstract, the use of color, shape, line, texture, embellishments, and fabric allows each artist to express their inner world with these creative and original art quilts.
The "TEXTile MESSAGING" Art Quilt Exhibit will display twenty seven quilts by 14 art quilters at the Branigan Cultural Center, 501 N. Main Street, Las Cruces from February 1, 2008 - March 1, 2008. An opening reception will be held on Friday February 1, 2008 from 5-7 pm. Several of the quilters will be in attendance. The Cultural Center is located at the north end of the downtown mall. Parking is available at intersection of Water and Hadley streets. There is no charge and the museum is open to the public Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Saturday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. The Cultural Center is fully accessible to all audiences.
