As part of the world recognition of International Womens Day 2007, the Branigan Cultural Center in Las Cruces will take part in the exhibition, Women Without Borders, an event that will be celebrated at three locations. A special opening artists reception at the Branigan Cultural Center will be held on Friday, March 9 from 5 7 p.m. The evening will include remarks from Las Cruces Mayor William Mattiace and Mexican Consul General Juan Carlos Foncerrada. The Las Cruces exhibit will run through Saturday, March 31.

The multidisciplinary exhibit of work of more than 40 internationally recognized artists is presented under the auspices of the Mexican Consulate in El Paso, TX . The three-part exhibit will also have opening receptions at the Comision Federal de Electricidad in Juarez , Chihuahua , Mexico on Wednesday, March 7 at 4 p.m. and at the Consulado General de Mexico in El Paso , TX on Thursday, March 8 at 6 p.m.
Through art, Women Without Borders reunites women from both sides of the border, regardless of their nationality, profession, culture, language, politics, or age. Artists of El Paso and Las Cruces join those from Cuidad Juarez and Casas Grandes in this years exhibition.

Concurrently, the Main Gallery of the Las Cruces Museum of Art will exhibit North & South of the Border, works by distinguished artists Antonio Castro, Gaspar Enriquez and Diana Molina, through Saturday, April 7.
