1708 Gallery will feature Ambulatorio, an installation of 36 black and while aerial photographs of Cali, Colombia, where the artist lives. Mounted on shattered security glass, Ambulatorio is installed on the floor reinforcing the idea of the aerial view and allowing the viewer to "traverse" the city. Central to drug trafficking the 80s and 90s, Cali was once one of the most dangerous cities in the world. The shattered security glass and hazy, vague imagery both draw attention to the city's violent history and create a sense of distance.
Works will be on display from Feb. 18th until March 31st.
