Born to residents of a moderately-sized logging town-turned-dot com hub located on the west coast of the United States, Ian Douglass Ferger developed his empirical method and dark sense of humour at a rather young age. The generally depressive atmosphere and consistently grey weather nurtured his wry, satirical--and sometimes political--work. Ferger has been navigating the bowels of the 'Seattle Art Scene' since 1994, with over 18 solo exhibitions and multiple artistic collaborations under his belt.

Ferger's attention has slowly shifted away from the supercollage and small-scale found-object assemblage work towards larger assemblage constructions which combine religious forms with materialistic concepts, while composing a print manifesto on the topic of funnelling rebellious thought patterns into tangible creativity.

Having discovered a new love during travels to Europe for an exhibition in 2003, Ferger increasingly divides his time between Seattle and the bustling eurasian crossroads of Berlin.

Over the last several years, Ian has produced over 80 works in collage, assemblage, and photoabstracts.See the Essential Ferger on August 13th between or email artinfo@thepeanutgallery.us to be apprised of upcoming events related to this show, or to make an appointment to view the work (No purchase required or expected).
