Opening night screening of FIFTY DEAD MEN WALKING & Q&A with Sir Ben Kingsley
Curzon Cinemas and Metrodome proudly welcome actor Sir Ben Kingsley to discuss his role in Fifty Dead Men Walking after the opening night screening.
Loosely based on Martin McGartland’s best selling autobiography, Jim Sturgess (The Other Boleyn Girl) stars as McGartland; an IRA informer from 1989 to 1991, following his recruitment by the RUC Special Branch after an arrest for petty crime. Sturgess’s McGartland, described by Variety as “…an amorphous entity but a fascinating one, portrayed with just the right doses of cockiness and desperation”, is selected by British operative Fergus (Kingsley). He quickly works up the IRA ranks, reputedly holding the position as one of the most important infiltrators of the time. However, when his cover is finally blown, the man who claims to have saved the lives of fifty men, now has to save his own.
Actor Sir Ben Kingsley will appear in a post screening discussion of Fifty Dead Men Walking at Curzon Soho, Friday 10 April, 6.10pm.
