North Countys coolest hot spot, The Wave Waterpark, 101 Wave Drive, will open its fourteenth summer season Memorial Day weekend May 24 through May 26, 10:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
The Wave Waterpark offers a variety of rides and attractions including a temperature-controlled competition pool, the Rio Loco lazy river, and five slides the Rip Tide, Salsa Twist, Tubulation, Slam Dunk, and Flash Flood. For an even greater challenge, park guests may brave the wave on the Flow Rider, a simulated wave ride offering a perfect wave every time. The Wave also offers retail merchandise, birthday party reservations, private event bookings, group packages and cabanas. General admission (42 and taller) is $15. Children under 42 are $11. Children three years and under are free and spectator passes are $15 (a $5 refund available upon exit). Individual Wave season passes are available for $65 providing unlimited admission to the park during the 2008 summer season and great deals at Legoland, Wild Rivers, the Moonlight Amphitheatre, Boomers and other great business. Abbreviated summer hours begin June 6 through June 20, operating from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. The summer season daily hours of operation, 10:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., begin June 21 and continue through September 1.
