The Branigan Cultural Center presents Color 2, the works of renowned artist Gabriella Denton. The exhibition begins on Friday, March 4, 2011 and ends on Saturday, March 26, 2011. A reception is to be held on Friday, February 4, 2011 during the monthly Ramble.
Ms. Denton, a native of Rome, Italy is an award-winning artist who earned her BFA from the University of Colorado in Boulder. She has taught painting and drawing and her works have been exhibited widely in galleries and museums including the Sangre de Cristo Art Center in Pueblo, Colorado, the Tucson Art Museum D’Art Invitational in Arizona and at New Mexico State University. She now resides in Las Cruces.
Ms. Denton’s art is infused with color. Anthony Sobin of Taos Fine Art says “She is a colorist of the first rank – always surprising and always right-on whether in her folk art-inspired fantasies which are great fun and filled with happiness, or in her abstract compositions which are brimming with intelligence and satisfying to both heart and mind.”
The Branigan Cultural Center is located at the north end of the Downtown Mall in Las Cruces at 501 N. Main Street. Gallery hours are Tuesday through Saturday from 9AM to 4:30PM.
