The Branigan Cultural Center will exhibit over 40 works of art by members of the Black Range Artists, Inc. during a spring exhibition scheduled for April 4 through April 26, 2008. An opening reception will be held Friday, April 4, 2007 from 5 to 7 p.m. Public is invited to attend.
Black Range Artists, Inc. was established in 1962 to promote and encourage art in the southwest by providing quality exhibitions, information and beneficial programs to artists and their communities. The Black Range Artists who will exhibit their work at this show represent southern New Mexico and west Texas.
The organization was formed by Bernard Vetter, Margaret Vetter, Inez Barret, and Dorothy Ingraham. The group began meeting in the old Percha Bank in Winston, New Mexico and then in Hillsboro during the annual Apple Festival.
The Cultural Center is located at the north end of the downtown mall. Parking is available at intersection of Water and Hadley streets. There is no charge and is open to the public Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Saturday from 9 .am. to 1 p.m. For more information about the exhibition, contact the Branigan Cultural Center at 541-2154 or visit the Centers web site at http://museums.las-cruces.org.
