Las Cruces, NM – The Artamants membership show opens Friday, September 4, 2009 at the Branigan Cultural Center in Las Cruces with a reception from 5 – 7 pm. The public is invited to meet the artists and enjoy the First Friday Ramble on the Downtown Mall. The exhibit will be open through Saturday, September 26th.
Loosely translated from Latin, Artamants means “lovers of art”. A collaborative of local artists, Artamants have been gathering weekly for over a decade to paint, share techniques and camaraderie. Members include Nabuko Bassett, Beverly Denny, Flo Hosa Dougherty, Sheila Duffy, Marie Dwyer, Tom Gerend, Jennifer Goude, Mayanna Howard, Betty Hummer, Darlene Hungate, Janet Jackson, Jo Ledbetter, Sally March, Burt Rawlings, Susan Rivera, Virginia Roach, and Kathy Squires.
The Branigan Cultural Center, 501 N. Main Street, is located at the north end of the Downtown Mall in Las Cruces. The exhibit and reception is free and open to the public.
