The artistic talents of Las Cruces high school seniors will be on display at the Las Cruces Museum of Art during the upcoming annual “All-City High School Seniors’ Exhibition.”
Beginning Friday, April 15, 2011 and running through Saturday, April 23, 2011, the show includes artwork by students graduating from Alma d’Arte, Las Cruces, Mayfield, Oñate, and San Andres High Schools and is judged by local artists Janice Cook and Jeannie Rundell. An opening reception and awards presentation for the artists will be held on Friday, April 15, 2011 from 5:00 PM – 7:00 PM.
The high school seniors’ creative work covers a wide range of artistic media including ceramics, sculpture, printmaking, drawing and painting, photography, and mixed media. The opening reception is catered by students in high school culinary arts programs who compete for awards in creativity, taste and presentation. The four-member student band, “Sunlight Community,” will be performing original music.
“Year after year, this exhibition continues to be my favorite. The work by these young artists is fresh and inspiring,” said Exhibitions Curator Joy Miller.
