At the Exploratorium’s Open MAKE: Trash, on April 21, 2012, from 10 am to 2 pm, come reuse, reclaim, recycle and re-think your opinion of what is ready for the dumpster! Meet makers and artists whose work is all about the craft of reclaiming and re-imagining old materials, now considered as valuable resources. Then, do your own reconstructing, while learning some new uses for old objects. Open MAKE: Trash is also a great way to celebrate Earth Day weekend 2012. This spring, we’re tinkering with a capital “T” as the Exploratorium’s Tinkering Studio © and MAKE Magazine present Open MAKE – a monthly program of hands-on activities, demonstrations and talks by guest artists and makers from the Bay Area and beyond.
