The Exploratorium has teamed up with Pixar Animation Studios and MAKE magazine to present Open MAKE, a monthly program highlighting the tools, techniques and ingenuity of local Makers. Each month, through May, we’ll explore a different theme, centering activities, exhibits and artists around a new material—plastic, cardboard, metal/wire or wood. In parallel, a group of teenaged Young Makers meet with a group of seasoned Makers to develop their own projects to bring to this year’s Maker Faire.
During Open MAKE sessions, adults and youth alike are welcome to come play and create inside the Tinkering Studio, where Makers from around the Bay Area will share their work. You can also join Dale Dougherty, founder and editor of MAKE magazine, as he interviews featured Makers in the McBean Theater.
