New Owner and New Name
E-Project Theater and Events Center in Lakewood is proud to announce Rick Yaconis as the new Executive Director and Artistic Director. Yaconis is a business executive with over 26 years of experience in leadership and education. This experience combined with his strong passion for theater and the arts, as well as his own education which combines an undergraduate degree in theater with an MBA, will facilitate his journey of taking the E- Project, new home of The Edge Theatre Company and The Performing Arts Academy of Lakewood (PAAL), to the next level of performance and notoriety. He has acted in or directed over twenty-five productions, including "Sylvia" most recently at the E-Project. His well laid out plan will ensure that The Edge Theatre Company will be recognized as a premier theater in Colorado with a focus on quality, integrity, versatility, creativity, and fiscal efficiency.
An Open House and Fundraiser will be held at 1 p.m. on Sunday, November 7 at The E-Vents Center, 9797 West Colfax Ave in Lakewood to celebrate the opening of The Edge Theatre Company. The first season will be announced along with audition dates, along with a meet and greet for all members of the theater community who are interested in directing, acting, stage management, lighting, and all crew positions. Admission is free, and interested parties are encouraged to bring a resume and headshot. At 3 p.m., there will be a beer tasting fundraiser. The requested donation for any person in the theater community who attended the open house is only $10. For all others the price is $25. Reservations can be made by calling 303-521-8041.
• The first Edge Theatre Company season will celebrate contemporary America playwrights. The eight show season will be a mix of comedy, edgy drama, and a musical.
• The Summer Series will be comprised of three shorter run comedies that are sure to entertain audience members in the heat of the summer.
• The PAAL program, a reputable program to educate children in the arts and theater, will be reinvigorated and expanded.
• Special Events will include Night at the Improv, Stand Up Night, Playwright Specials, Variety Shows, Concerts, Cabarets, Visual Arts Shows, E-Fridays!
We are currently seeking talented directors and actors for paid positions as well as volunteers for a variety of stage crew positions for both The Edge Theatre Company and the PAAL program.
Our focus will be to expand the theater experience to new audiences, as well as attract the existing theater community and theater lovers to the new Edge Theatre Company by providing quality and diverse entertainment, while focusing on quality arts education for youth through the Performing Arts Academy of Lakewood.
