In the spirit of Open Coffee / beer / juice, The Werks is opening up on Friday's for free coworking to developers, writers, creatives, freelancers and independents.
Paraphrasing Wikipedia: Coworking is a new pattern for working. Often work-at-home professionals, freelancers or frequent travellers end up working in an isolated way. Coworking is the social gathering of a group of people, who are still working independently, but who share values and are interested in the synergy that can happen from working with talented people in the same space.
The deal: come along (9:30 onwards), use our space, broadband and facilities and in return; respect the space and the people in it, collaborate and if you found it worthwhile come again.

Cheers Neil.
i had such a good time at Open Beer (well Open French thanks Ivan) at The Werks late December when it opened. Met some lovely folk (hi Nicqui). Even got parking! Nice space you got there guys. Good locality too. If not Friday, then Tues for the class and on to co-workers lunch! Oh what a sociable mob we all are...

Whilst I can't make this myself, I have mentioned it on the Coworking Google Group and posted it to the Coworking Community Blog - http://blog.coworking.info/2008/01/07/jan-11-2008-open-coworking-brighton-at-the-werks/
Hopefully it proves to be a very successful day.
