The Young People’s Chorus of Erie will hold eight auditions for new members prior to the beginning of its spring 2010 season.
YPC Erie membership is open to singers ages 7-18 who demonstrate the ability to match pitch and have a genuine interest in singing. Children may bring a prepared unaccompanied piece to sing for the audition, or can sing “Happy Birthday To You.” In addition, the child and a parent will have a short interview with choir founder and artistic director Dr. Jason Bishop.
YPC Erie is particularly recruiting for its newest effort, a Young Men’s Chorus for boys ages 13 to 18 whose voices have changed.
Auditions for prospective members of any age will be held between 6:30 and 8:30 p.m. each evening between Monday, Nov. 30, and Thursday, Dec. 3, and again between Monday, Jan. 4, and Thursday, Jan. 7. Depending on the day, auditions will be held at the Larry and Kathryn Smith Chapel on the campus of Penn State Behrend, at First Presbyterian Church of the Covenant, 250 W. 7th St., or at the Cathedral of St. Paul Episcopal, 134 W. 7th St.
AN AUDITION RESERVATION IS REQUIRED AND CAN BE MADE BY CALLING YPC ERIE AT 814-898-6789.
