Queens Theatre in the Park (QTP) opens their Studio Theatre season with Opa! The Musical, an Equity Showcase production produced by Carras/ Papageorgiou Productions, Inc., running from October 8 – 25, 2009 in the Studio Theatre at Queens Theatre in the Park, Flushing Meadows Corona Park, Flushing, NY. When a boat arrives on the tiny Greek island of Elia – for the first time in 20 years – some of the villagers’ long-held secrets come to the forefront, and they are left with only one choice...to face their hidden selves, celebrate life and just say OPA!
Nytheatre.com called Opa! The Musical a “joyful, feel-good musical about the people on a remote island off the coast of Greece.” The production received five awards from the 2008 Midtown International Theatre Festival. Opa! The Musical is part of the 2009 Greek Cultural Festival.
Opa! The Musical will be performed from October 8 – 25, 2009, with performances on Thursday, Fridays and Saturdays at 8pm and Sundays at 3pm.
