The Online Community Summit, which takes place October 8-9 in Sonoma, California, is a unique invitation-based event, bringing together thought leaders from business, government, finance, academia and the media, who despite different positions share a keen interest in online group collaboration. Last year we had about 75 senior participants in sessions addressing business strategy, emerging technologies, key trends -- as well as many nuts and bolts topics relevant to online community professionals.
Past participants (to give a flavor of the group) included: Microsoft, AARP, Skoll Foundation, Omidyar Network, Institute for the Study of Knowledge Management in Education, Social Edge, Sun, Autodesk, Cisco, Lucile Packard Foundation for Children's Health, eBay, TripAdvisor, American Legacy Fundation, VMware, eBay, Symantec, and Yahoo.
We like to think that the Summit represents the most knowledgeable and diverse gathering of people thinking about online interaction that exists. The environment and food are also very nice (we hold the Summit on the lovely campus of the Ramekins Culinary Academy).
