Join us at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, April 22, for a BrainStorm Discussion on:
Climate Change in Oregon: Inconvenient Truth and Unforeseen Opportunity
with Cylvia Hayes, founder and executive director of 3EStrategies http://www.3estrategies.org/
“Climate change is one of the greatest challenges facing humanity, but it is also one of our greatest opportunities,” says Cylvia Hayes, featured speaker at OMSI’s BrainStorm discussion on April 22. “It gives us a direct and urgent reason to restore the environment, build a stronger, more secure economy, and create a more peaceful world.”
Hayes will present a unique, solution-oriented spin on the science behind the current effects of global climate change. She’ll focus on the special challenges and opportunities climate change presents for Oregon and offer a pragmatic roadmap for how we can effectively address this crucial issue.
Cylvia Hayes has 18 years of professional experience in sustainable energy, green building, waste prevention, and sustainable economics, and is one of 1,000 people worldwide chosen by former Vice President Al Gore to be trained to deliver the slideshow that led to the film An Inconvenient Truth. Hayes is the founder and executive director of 3EStrategies http://www.3estrategies.org, a nonprofit consulting organization whose mission is to accelerate the transition to sustainable building, energy, and economic practices. Hayes is currently serving on Governor Kulongoski’s Renewable Energy Working Group.
