Celebrate the Year of the Dragon with a day of Asian New Year traditions at the Oakland Museum of California on Sunday, January 29, from 12 to 4:30 pm. Featuring activities for the entire family, the 11th annual celebration honors California's diversity and celebrates the many traditions of our Asian community. The event is free with Museum admission.
The day's activities include: mochi pounding with Kagami Kai; Korean drumming by OngDance Company; storytelling with Oliver Chin; performances by the Red Panda Acrobats and Cambodian rapper RJ Sin, lion and dragon dances, and a special presentation celebrating Fred Korematsu Day (January 30), with a film screening and talk by his daughter Karen Korematsu.
