Closely following his deceased father’s detailed, typewritten journal from June 1944 to May 1945, Joe DeMatio used a 2011 Cadillac CTS-V coupe to retrace his father’s WWII battalion’s path through France, Belgium, Holland, and Germany. He talked to people who remember American GIs in their villages and fields. At one point, the Caddy was surrounded by people taking pictures of the only CTS coupe in Europe. DeMatio, Deputy Editor of Ann Arbor-based Automobile Magazine, will recount his story, “My Father’s Footsteps,” that was published in the September 2010 issue of Automobile Magazine.
This will be an informal talk with a slide show and Q&A. Sorry, no test drives of the CTS-V coupe....
