Conversation with Oliver Sacks about his new book: Musicophilia: Tales of Music and the Brain.

Examining all aspects of the melodic experience, Sacks shows how music is not only about sound, but also movement, visualization, expression, and silence.

Sacks is renowned for restoring narrative to a central place in medicine, in books such as An Anthropologist on Mars and Awakenings, which was adapted into an Oscar-nominated film of the same name starring Robert De Niro and Robin Williams. Sacks continues his consistently fascinating, intense, and thoughtful chronicles of neurological patients in Musicophilia: Tales of Music and the Brain.

It sold out, and yet I'm still watching this event.

No big deal, because it'll be on the radio eventually. Like, next year (01/13/2008).
