This enchanting musical classic is based on the Charles Dickens novel Oliver Twist. It is the story of an orphan (Oliver) who gets mixed up with a band of young pickpockets led by the conniving Fagin. The story is full of memorable characters such as Bumble, the caretaker of the orphanage; Sykes, the gang’s bully; Sykes’ girlfriend Nancy, who eventually realizes that the street life is not for Oliver and tries to save him; and kindly, elderly Mr. Brownlow who becomes Oliver’s benefactor. It includes wonderful musical numbers such as Food, Glorious Food, I'd Do Anything, Where is Love?, Consider Yourself, and As Long As He Needs Me.
