On a cold Boston night in February of 2008, Olinde arrived at home to find a box on her porch that was as tall as she was. Layers of cardboard and brown paper fell away to reveal the blonde curves and silver strings of her first guitar, a surprise gift from her family. That night, Olinde began to teach herself how to play, gravitating towards the sounds and rhythms that echoed the feelings in her heart. Encouraged by a talented circle of musicians and friends, Olinde’s songwriting quickly became a daily pursuit. Her music is a blend of folk, jazz, soul, and whimsy, inspired by a range of female artists that include Joni Mitchell, Stevie Nicks, Patty Griffin, Ella Fitzgerald and Bjork.
