On a cold Boston night in February of 2008, Olinde arrived at home to find a box on her porch that was as tall as she was. Layers of cardboard and brown paper fell away to reveal the blonde curves and silver strings of her first guitar, a surprise gift from her family. That night, Olinde began to teach herself how to play, gravitating towards the sounds and rhythms that echoed the feelings in her heart. Encouraged by a talented circle of musicians and friends, Olinde’s songwriting quickly became a daily pursuit. Her music is a blend of folk, jazz, soul, and whimsy, inspired by a range of female artists that include Joni Mitchell, Stevie Nicks, Patty Griffin, Ella Fitzgerald and Bjork. 2010 has been a particularly special year for Olinde. She received "Honorable Mention" in the Rocky Mountain Folks Festival Songwriter Showcase contest, began recording her debut album, and became a regular performer in the Boston acoustic music scene. Be sure to catch this emerging songstress live. In addition to solo shows, she can often be spotted singing harmony for Jenee Halstead, and Mark Lipman.
