Several years ago, at Harry Tuft's gentle urging, Swallow Hill revived this folkiest of folk events. The hootenannies are a combination of open stage, mass sing-a-long and groovin' good time, in the company of the godfather of folk music in Denver. In the cozy environs of the Tuft Theater, the hootenanny is set up like an open stage, with a signup sheet and a hoot leader.
