Fall in love with a new hobby as Old Alabama Town offers knitting lessons each Tuesday at the Rose-Morris House, located at 451 Columbus St. Drop by anytime between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. to receive an introduction to the world of knitting.
Lessons are not sequential, so you’ll be free to learn at your own pace, taking as many classes as you need. Basic knitting stitches will be covered, as well as tips on how to read a pattern and understand fibers.
Lessons cost $10 for members of Old Alabama Town (with membership card) and $15 for the general public--per lesson, due in cash at the start of each class. Registration is not required.
Please bring with you the following supplies: a pair of 13 inch, #7 bamboo or wooden knitting needles; one skein of simple lightweight, light-colored cotton or cotton-blend yarn (we suggest Lion Brand's Lion Cotton or Cotton Ease or Lily's Sugar and Cream, available at most craft stores).
For more information, please call 334-240-4512.
