Off-Air's 4th Annual Winter Block Party for Chicago's Hip-Hop Artists January 21, 2012

Chicago Public Media (WBEZ 91.5 FM) continues its Off-Air Series and kicks off 2012 with the ever popular 4th Annual Winter Block Party for Chicago's Hip-Hop Artists at Metro, 3730 N Clark Street, on Saturday, January 21 from 12:00 pm - 11:00 pm.

This celebration of all things related to Chicago's hip-hop arts features all day free programming including a street art and graffiti gallery exhibition; film screening; live poetry slam, breakdancing competition, emcee competition, and painting by Ruben Aguirre; plus music all afternoon by some of Chicago's best DJs, the opportunity to shop the marketplace, and much more!

Specifically of interest, the culminating ticketed event ($15/general admission, $12/WBEZ members, and $10/students) titled, "Legends of the BodyRock: An All-City 3-on-3" will showcase a history of Chicago breakdancing with interviews and archive footage, live guests, and the semi-final and final rounds of the "3-on-3" breakdancing battle hosted by Legendary Brickheadz.
