The 38th season of smart, exuberant, fearless dance that matters. World premieres by Brenda Way and KT Nelson and the return of five ODC repertory favorites.
Program 1 features the world premiere of KT Nelson's "Grassland," with a commissioned score performed live (3.12-3.14) by acclaimed Brazilian composer and pianist, Marcelo Zarvos. Inspired by the power of nature, suggestive of the winds of change, this full company work is a sweeping collaboration of sight and sound.
Program 2 features Artistic Director Brenda Way's "In the Memory of the Forest," an exploration of human will, resilience and ingenuity, inspired by Way's late mother-in-law, Iza Erlich, who, as a teenager in 1941, walked away from the Warsaw Ghetto. Features special video artists David and Hi-Jin Hodge.
