ODC/Dance Celebrates at the Joyce August 9, 2011

Athletic and daring, innovative and thought-provoking, ODC/Dance celebrates its 40th Anniversary at the Joyce with three of its most lauded works in recent years: The NY premiere of Brenda Way's smash hit Waving Not Drowning (A Guide to Elegance) is a wry consideration of fashion, manners and movement, with an original score by award-winning vocalist Pamela Z. KT Nelson's rousing and rhythmic Stomp A Waltz (NY Premiere), danced to Marcelo Zarvos and the Ethel String Quartet, takes the stage with gusto and exuberance. Recently named a NEA American Masterpiece, Way's stunning masterwork Investigating Grace exploring themes of love, loss and transcendence rounds out the program.
