"SCUBA Touring Network dives for dance, discovering and shuttling edgy artists"-City Pages
Megan Mazarick "Avatard"
(Philadelphia)
Three video gamers become characters inside a game and must rely on the controls within their bodies to keep playing. Pop culture references, a science fiction theme song sound score and video projections create a humorous, surreal atmosphere offset by Mazarick's highly stylized movement language.
locust, Amy ONeal Artistic Director "crushed"
(Seattle)
"crushed" flips the script on the preconception that the victim is always the most affected person in an accident. Using hip hop, contemporary dance, video and a live electronic soundscape, O'Neal creates an electric atmosphere in which chaos and control vie for prominence.
"infectious, energizing stuff; dance that sucks you in and makes you want to get off your ass and join in"--Willamette Weekly
The Foundry, Alex Ketley Artistic Director "Please Love Me"
(San Francisco)
One of three presentations of the Theater Irrelevant project, ours is ironically the only one to take place in a theater. Subsequent performances will be outdoors or in bars, each time offering a new view of Ketleys poetically elegant material. You saw it here first, enjoy it wherever it goes.
