CCW’s regular monthly meeting will be held on Thursday, October 4 at 1:00pm in the St. Mary Immaculate Faith Sharing Room. Cedar Lake Village Marketing Director, Cheryl Ghassan, about their facility and all that it has to offer. Also Thursday, October 4, but at 6:30pm in the Faith Sharing Room, CCW will tour Mary's Miniatur Mansions, Ltd. created by Sr. Mary Boyd, OSF.

In 1991, Sr. Mary Boyd, OSF, began her "Mary's Miniature Mansions, Ltd." Since then, she has created 23 original dollhouses, several stables for crèche figures, collection houses for Habitat for Humanity, and a variety of other wood creations.

Sr. Mary has been in the field of education for 49 years as an elementary classroom teacher and administrator in the first half of her career. During the past 26 years she has been at St. Patrick School in St. Charles, IL, teaching Art and Spanish.

To create the dollhouses, she takes 6 months to a year, some involving up to 350 hours of hands-on work. The houses feature inlaid parquet floors, real cedar shingles, wallpaper, unique chimneys and fireplaces, etc. Some are 1/2 inch scale, and others are 1 inch scale, depending on what the client wishes.
Sample projects will be available for viewing.

Come out for a fun evening and learn all about Sister's passion for dollhouses. Dessert and drinks will be served.
