Obama's Second Inaugural Address was seen as primarily a policy speech, details of which were elaborated in his State of Union talk before Congress and the American people.

But Obama's eloquent Inaugural Address was also a statement of his underlying philosophy and values. My address of March 10 will be an analysis of that speech with an eye toward Barack Obama as a serious intellectual who is inspired by ideas as a basis of action. The talk will provide a unique insight into a personality which is often perceived as hidden behind not easily open to view.
