The Friends of Fairfax Station will have their annual meeting on Monday, March 26 from 7:30-9:30. After a brief meeting we will have a visiting speaker from the new O. Winston Link Museum in Roanoke. Bill Arnold was a personal friend of Mr. Link and will undoubtedly have some great stories to tell about this famous man. O. Winston Link has been declared the outstanding 20th Century photographer of transportation. He developed skills of lighting and stopping the motion of a moving object so was able to capture scenes such as one nicknamed “The Drive In”. That print and others are available at the museum, as are three different books relating to his works. His pictures will stir your heart and memories of long ago days, especially in the 50’s! Come & see the slides and hear about the many tales of Mr. Link & this bygone era.
This is a free event but donations are encouraged.
