Locally-made Films * Dance & Circus Performance * Food + Beer
On Friday, Dec. 11 at 8:30 p.m. at the Mission Theater, all-new locally-made documentaries will hit the big screen. NW Documentary’s “Homegrown DocFest” will feature a dozen films produced during Do-It-Yourself (DIY) Documentary, Experimental, and Podcast workshops.
These quirky, enlightening and endearing short documentary films will introduce a host of colorful, local characters and topics.
This Homegrown DocFest will also feature performances by Circus Artemis, Portland’s new all-women circus, and Polaris Dance Theatre, a contemporary modern dance company. Both groups are featured in the documentaries and will be performing new works.
The evening showcases DIY storytelling in Portland and will celebrate NW Documentary’s inclusion in the Willamette Week’s 2009 Give!Guide. Filmmaker Q&As and the release of the 2010 Spring Catalog of NW Documentary workshops follow the perfomance.
