The Little Sisters of Hoboken discover that their cook, Sister Julia, Child of God, has accidentally poisoned 52 of the sisters. In dire need of funds for the burials, the sisters decide to put on a variety show to raise the money. Dan Goggin's concept that began in greeting cards became a successful off-Broadway show in 1985. Essentially a cabaret show with a light-hearted plot, five women play the unique and hilarious main characters. The "Nunsense" musicals now appear in several versions, have grossed $300 million, and have been translated into 26 languages.
