Nubian Village Academy 10th anniversary September 10, 2010

The Nubian Village Academy will kick off its 10th anniversary with a celebration highlighting the organization’s successes and most notably, the recent release of the school’s best-selling book entitled “Amazing Faces of Central Virginia.”
A buffet and book signing is scheduled for September 10, 2010 starting 6:30pm. at the Positive Vibes Cafe, 2825 Hathaway Road in Richmond . RSVP is encouraged Guests can obtain an autographed copy of the school’s best-selling book featuring local honorees. The event costs are $18 for adults and $9 per child.
“Amazing Faces of Central Virginia,” in collaboration with the Nubian Village ’s co-founder Dr. Arvat McClaine, is a collection of stories about some of the amazing people in the Central Virginia region who use their personal power to make a difference in the world around them.
From ages 11-98, the amazing picks include a senator, a judge, dancers and musicians, as well as educators, a motorcycle enthusiast and many others.
These stories help us to know that from where ever we stand, we have the power to inspire, to make a difference, and to be simply amazing!
The Amazing Faces of Central Virginia is in honor of some of the ordinary people in the community who have done extraordinary things.
