The Northwest Design and Technology Festival is coming to Edge Hill University!
This year's festival, a unique celebration of the very best Design and Technology work from across the region, will be hosted by Edge Hill University in the Faculty of Education (Ormskirk campus) on the 24th and 25th June 2009.
The organisers have chosen Edge Hill University because of our outstanding reputation for excellence within Design and Technology Education and the fantastic state of the art facilities.
Stakeholders involved in the collaboration to make this event happen include: NAAIDT, DATA, The Science Learning Centre (North West) STEMNET, A&L Facilities, The Bolton Science and Technology Innovation Centre as well as representatives from many of the region's Higher education institutions, including Edge Hill, Manchester Metropolitan and Liverpool John Moores University.
The 24th is a day designated for children and teachers from primary schools, whilst the 25th is an event for staff and pupils from the secondary educational sector.
The event comprises keynote speakers, trade exhibits, a schools exhibition, teacher CPD workshops and challenges and competitions for the children.
The children will be supervised throughout the event by trainee teachers, which leaves teaching staff free to enjoy the festival, share good practice and participate fully within the CPD workshops and conference based activities.
The event ends with an awards ceremony celebrating the success, hard work and achievements of the pupils and the dedication of their teachers.
