The North Riverside Mall Theatre is excited to welcome local artist Tadeusz Troczynski of Oak Park for their month long art display in June. A 40-year veteran as an artist, Troczynski will be bringing several oil on canvas pieces to the theatre exhibit space, located in the lobby of the North Riverside Mall Theatre, at 7501 West Cermak Road.
When asked what inspired him to become an artist, Troczynski said, “I always drew or painted. I was born into it.” Troczynski received a Master of Arts in Fine Arts from Lodz University in Poland. For over ten years, he directed the Warsaw Cultural Institute in Warsaw, Poland. While working as a graphic designer at a weekly newspaper in Chicago, he continued to create and exhibit his personal work. These works have been on exhibit at Art West Gallery in Jackson Hole, Wyoming, and in private collections in Germany, Great Britain, Italy, Poland, the US, and in the Vatican. He was a finalist in the Artist’s Magazine art competition, and he has an Award of Excellence from the Beverly Arts Center.
The artwork on display at the North Riverside Mall Theatre is mostly oil on canvas ranging from still life to portraits and abstracts. “My daughter picked out her favorite pieces for this display,” Troczynski emphasized. “It is wonderful to share my work with patrons of the North Riverside Mall Theatre.”
Each month, the North Riverside Mall Theatre provides lobby space to display the works of local artisans. Classic Cinemas, based in Downers Grove, Illinois, is a family-owned company operated by Willis, Shirley and Chris Johnson.
