North Charleston City Gallery Exhibit: Works by Phillip Chan and Heather Freeman October 1, 2010

Phillip Chan presents Excavation, oilstick paintings of fallen angels. Each abstract piece reflects on the ideas of ultramateriality, morality, and above all, humanity. Heather Freeman presents works from the Fuzzy Pictures series. These illustrations of memories questioned as dreams are archival inkjet prints on Arches watercolor paper, which are reworked in various media including ink, graphite, and watercolor. In each piece, archetypes and myths unite with historical events and present the hazy quality of memory as sharp and transformative.

Gallery is within Charleston Area Convention Center. Open daily, 9am-5pm.
