(Berkeley, CA) March 20, 2012– Join Habitot Children’s Museum for its 5th annual Norooz or Persian New Year celebration on March 20, 2012 from 9:30am to 12:30pm. This spring festival of renewal is traditionally celebrated in the spring in Iran, Afghanistan and other Middle Eastern regions. Visitors will have the opportunity to check out a beautiful Haft sin table, customarily decorated and displayed in family homes to symbolize love and togetherness in the new season. In the Art Studio families can celebrate nature by creating their own seed strips. As part of Norooz, children will also learn about the growth from seed to plant first-hand, a week-long museum display of Sabzeh (wheat grass seeds) sprouting of Sabzeh. For more information about Habitot's events and free days, please visit http://www.habitot.org. Regular hours (9.30 am- 4.30 pm) and admission rates apply ($9 per person.)
